Adagio for Strings is a work by Samuel Barber, arguably his best known, arranged for string orchestra from the second movement of his String Quartet, Op. 11 . Barber finished the arrangement in 1936, the same year that he wrote the quartet.

A particularly interesting track is Showhawks' cover of DJ Tiesto's 1990s trance take on Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings (at 7.42). The way Mikhail Asanovic plays his guitar parts brings out the classical music origins of DJ Tiesto's dance track while Jake Wright's more rhythmic approach gets the audience clapping along.
